Samir Ishak, MD
Samir Ishak, MD, joined the psychiatry team at St. Joseph Medical Group in July 2015. Prior to joining SJMG, Dr. Ishak was a psychiatrist at Good Samaritan Mental Health Association and at Parkview Behavioral Health, both in Fort Wayne, Ind. He was also the medical director of the geropsych unit at Jay County Hospital in Portland, Ind., and the behavioral health unit at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Ind.
Previously, he served as medical director of the behavioral health unit at Wausau Hospital in Wausau, Wisc., and he worked as a psychiatrist at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare/Mayo Health System in La Crosse, Wisc., and at the Menninger Clinic in Topeka, Kan.
Dr. Ishak earned a medical degree with honors and completed an internship at Ain Shams University School of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt, in 1983 and 1985, respectively. He completed a residency in general psychiatry at the Chicago Medical School in 1996. Dr. Ishak is a member of the American Psychological Association.
