Matthew Bilodeau, MD, PhD
A native of Kokomo, Ind., Matthew L. Bilodeau, MD, PhD, returned to his Hoosier roots and joined Lutheran Medical Group in July 2011. Dr. Bilodeau, board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, previously served as a staff cardiologist at the University Hospitals Case Medical Center and at Tri-City Medical Services LLC in Elyria, Ohio. He has also worked as a hospitalist and a house physician at Southern Hills and Saint Thomas medical centers, both in Nashville, Tenn.
Dr. Bilodeau completed bachelors' degrees in chemistry and biology at Ball State University in 1995. He earned a medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2003 and a doctorate in philosophy in molecular and cellular biology at the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.
Dr. Bilodeau completed an internal medicine internship in 2004 and an internal medicine residency in 2005, a research fellowship in cardiovascular pharmacology in 2007 and a clinical fellowship in cardiovascular medicine in 2009, all at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tenn. He was recruited by Case Western Reserve School of Medicine in Cleveland, where he completed a clinical fellowship in interventional cardiology at the University Hospitals Case Medical Center in 2011 and was a research scientist in platelet and vascular biology at the Case Cardiovascular Research Institute.
Dr. Bilodeau is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Cardiology, the Indiana Medical Society and the Fort Wayne Medical Society.
