Although the actual cutoff age is usually determined by the pediatrician and the patient, most pediatricians treat patients from birth to age 18. Babies graduating from the NICU receive added support from the neonatal follow-up clinic. This clinic is specifically for infants who started life with more intensive medical needs. Providers work with each baby's primary care physician to ensure baby is growing and developing to his or her full potential.
