About
Cardiologist Motaz M. Shaher, M.D., FACC, FASE, joined Lutheran Medical Group in February 2012. Dr. Shaher came to LMG from University of Louisville Hospital, where he served as an associate professor of cardiovascular medicine, medical director of the critical care unit and director of cardiac MRI at Audubon Hospital.
He completed additional training in cardiac MRI at Wake Forest and Duke universities and in cardiac CT at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. In 2009, he was named Teacher of the Year by the University of Louisville's Department of Medicine, and he received the American College of Physician's Excellence in Internal Medicine Award the same year. He was inducted into the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels in 2008.
