About
Sarah Turner, M.D., joined Lutheran Health Physicians in April 2017. She previously served as an attending physician and fellow at the University of New Mexico hospital in Albuquerque where she completed a fellowship in maternal, child and reproductive health.
Dr. Turner's advanced training allows her to provide services in high-risk and surgical obstetrics, substance abuse in pregnancy, high-risk neonatal care and women's health. As an internationally board-certified lactation consultant, she has a special interest in breastfeeding. She regularly performs a range of in-office gynecologic procedures and has surgical privileges to perform cesarean sections and tubal ligations. As a primary care physician, Dr. Turner provides multiple types of health services to all ages including preventive care, such as cancer screenings and diet/weight loss counseling; chronic care for conditions like diabetes, hypertension and asthma; and care for symptoms like cough/cold, stomach pain or high fever.
After completing her residency, she traveled to Albuquerque for her fellowship. Upon completion of her fellowship, she returned with her family to Fort Wayne to continue her career as a family medicine physician. A native Canadian, she is the mother of two boys who keep her busy when she's not working.
