Joyce Vivian, NP
Joyce Vivian, NP, is a board-certified nurse practitioner with the advanced heart failure team. She provides care for patients who do not respond to medical and surgical therapies and who may be eligible for a heart transplant.
Joyce completed her undergraduate work in nursing from Bowling Green State University in Ohio before earning a master's degree in nursing from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as an RN in Cardiology, and has experience in diagnostic cardiac stress testing and cardiac rhythm management device therapy. Joyce has been a field clinical engineer, and has participated in drug trials that help to stimulate cardiac stem cells in patients with a history of cardiac injury.
Before joining Lutheran Health Physicians, Joyce provided adult/geriatric care as a nurse practitioner at LewisGale Physicians in Roanoke, Virginia. She has also served as an adult nurse practitioner with Sweet Briar College in Amherst, Virginia and has extensive experience in managing cardiac rhythm devices for the treatment of heart failure.
