About
Dr. Saites is a trauma surgeon who treats patients who have severe, life-threatening blunt force and penetrating injuries usually involving the colon, pancreas, spleen and/or stomach. Dr. Saites earned his bachelor's degree cum laude in biology from St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, and his master's in physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University in Washington.
Between 2011 and 2013, Dr. Saites completed pediatric surgical research, where he served as an instructor at Harvard Medical School. From 2015 to 2017, he served at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, where he completed his general surgery training.
Prior to joining Lutheran Health Physicians, Dr. Saites practiced trauma and acute care surgery and served as director of the surgical intensive care unit at Medical City Arlington in Arlington, Texas, from 2017 to 2018.
Dr. Saites brings a wealth of experience from training at renowned institutions. Internationally, Dr. Saites has operated in locations such as Hanoi, Vietnam, and Quito, Ecuador, and has enjoyed instructing advanced trauma life support courses for physicians, nurses and emergency medical technicians across the United States.
Dr. Saites' interests include surgical nutrition, graduate medical education and professional development. He has given several presentations on topics pertaining to pediatric, general and trauma surgery. He has also been published in medical journals on topics including postoperative complications in children with Crohn's disease and the treatment of appendicitis in children.
